Donna P. Legband, Esq.
Donna Legband is a partner in the firm and devotes her practice to matrimonial litigation, mediation, arbitration and collaborative divorces. Ms. Legband has served as a Mediator in contested matrimonial, family and civil matters for over 25 years and has assisted thousands of individuals in resolving their outstanding issues through the mediation process. She has served as an arbitrator in numerous matters and participated in the arbitration process through conclusion. In addition, she has successfully represented many clients in the collaborative divorce process. Ms. Legband has experience in all aspects of family law, including divorce litigation, mediation, and arbitration of divorce, visitation rights, custody and parenting issues, equitable distribution, domestic violence, pre-nuptial agreements, adoptions, name changes, alimony and child support.
Donna is a Past President of the Somerset County Bar Association. She has also served as Chair of the Somerset County Family Law Committee and Chair of the District XIII Ethics Committee. She currently serves as Secretary of the District XIII Ethics Committee. She has also served as Vice President of the Somerset County Bar Foundation. She has been named one of "The Best Lawyers in America" and a "Super Lawyer" in New Jersey Monthly for many years. She is also a member of the Central Jersey Family Law Inns of Court and the Somerset County Family Law Committee. Ms. Legband was a co-founder of the custody mediation program in Somerset County and has served as the Chair of the Somerset County Family Law Committee. She received the New Jersey Commission on Professionalism Attorney of the Year Award for Somerset County. Ms. Legband received her undergraduate degree with honors from Fairleigh Dickinson University and her Juris Doctorate degree from Stetson University College of Law.
Ms. Legband is an accredited member of the New Jersey Association of Professional Mediators (NJAPM), and a trained collaborative law attorney. She has mediated thousands of family law matters, including divorce, custody, parenting time, alimony, child support and civil matters. Donna is also a trained arbitrator as well. As an accredited mediator and as a litigator, Donna believes many cases can benefit from mediation or the collaborative divorce process; however, Donna is also a skilled litigator for those matters which cannot be resolved through alternate dispute resolution.
